Are haas over 28 years of commercial trading, marine shipping and distribution experience from the global ammonia and fertilizer industries. He held eadership positions in Yara International (Regional Director Ammonia Asia, Global Commercial and Maritime Ammonia Director), Koch Industries (Director of Trading Europe, Managing Director Europe, Board Member) and the EuroChem Group (Global Head of Market and Strategic Intelligence).

​He has successfully commercialized two new ammonia production export projects:

• 1 M ton ammonia production for export from Russia.

• 0.7 M ton ammonia production for export from Australia.

• Developed and executed go-to-market strategies, including optimizing long-term contract versus spot sales and pricing portfolio, contracting long-term LPG vessel chartering, and the making of a supply chain and inventory management tool.

​Are has a B.Eng. Honours degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Salford (UK) and Ecole Centrale de Lyon (France). He is a graduate from the Royal Norwegian Army’s Intelligence and Security Officer Academy and speaks five languages: Norwegian, English, French, German and Russian.
